About Mrs. Leone |
|
Mrs. Su Leone was born and raised in western New York State, just along the southern edge of the great Lake Ontario. She went to three colleges, and began teaching in 1998. Mrs. Leone has been a regular performer with the North Carolina Renaissance Faire, which takes place annually at the State Fairgrounds. She is a member of the "Musicians Royale," the official madrigal choir of the Faire's Royal Household of Queen Elizabeth I. Her character's name is Lady Anya Miller Smith. Su has been writing songs since she was 16 years old, taught by her best friend, Amber Kallen Monroe. The early years were full of angst-ridden blather, but thankfully Su's songs are now more substantive. Su got some limited airplay around Nine-Eleven with her song "The Towers of Freedom" under the name Su Rynas (a phonetic version of her maiden name). You can listen to a RealMedia excerpt HERE. Songwriting influences include: Indigo Girls, Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, Tori Amos, the boys of Monty Python and Barry Manilow.
