Wilton Elementary School

Mrs. Leone is certified as both a K-6 classroom teacher and a K-12 music teacher.  She currently teaches music to students in grades K through 5 at Wilton Elementary School in Granville County, about 20 miles north of Raleigh, NC.

  • Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. - Grade 3 "Pop Go the Decades!" (produced by Tim Zantello)

  • Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. - Grade 1 "Holidays around the World"

  • Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. NEW TIME- Grade 4 "Carolina, Carolina: Our State's Heritage in Song"  

  • * Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. - Wilton's PTO presents the "Stars of Wilton" Talent Show - All proceeds from ticket sales go to the PTO.  All proceeds from program ads go to the Music Dept. toward new textbook CDs.

  • Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. - Grade 2 "Songs from Camp Wilton" - All proceeds from Quarters for Kudos and business program ads go to the Music Dept. toward new textbook CDs.

 

Fundraising for Music Textbooks/CD Sets

Although we were granted 23 student copies of the new music textbooks for grades 3-5, we still need the following items:

  • Grade K CD set = $488.64
  • Grade 1 CD set = $516.73
  • Grade 1 student books (23 copies) = $1,150.92
  • Grade 2 student books (23 copies) = $1,231.19
  • Grade 5 CD set = $654.33

Ways to Raise Money for our Music Textbooks:

1) Buy an ad in one or all of the next two concert programs:
Business card-size ads (2" x 4.5") are only $20 per concert.  Our pricing has been streamlined to make it easier to sponsor a concert!

Grantwriting

Mrs. Leone is very active with Donors Choose, and online grant program where people looking to make small-to-large, meaningful financial donations can search through teacher proposals to support specific learning experiences and resources!  We hope you will consider contributing at whatever level is convenient for you.

Professional Development

In June 2007, Mrs. Leone finished an amazing course called "Content Area Reading Comprehension (K-8)" that took care of all 30 required hours of Reading CEU's at one time.  It is normally a $225 course, but she was able to catch them during a sale and attended for FREE!  The online workshop is through LEARN NC, a program of UNC-Chapel Hill.  If you are in need of some Reading CEU's, check it out!  It's very worthwhile!
